We purchased 4 assembled glass block windows. 3 had little window/screen vents and 1 had a dryer vent. Standard 2 block x 4 block size for our basement windows.
My husband and I decided to have glass block windows installed in our basement. I found Wolverine Glass Block on Angie's list, but they are too far from us to do the installation themselves and we have worked with a mason before, so we decided to use our guy again. We figured it would be most cost effective to buy the glass block at Home Depot or Lowes. Well I read on Wolverine's website that even if you don't hire them to do the work, you can still buy the windows from them. I asked my husband to call for a quote and he didn't even want to call. He thought a specialty place would be way more expensive than Home Depot. But like any good wife, I nagged him until he agreed to call. He got the measurements and called for a quote. He was in for a shock because Wolverine's cost was less than 1/2 of what Home Depot and Lowes charges. It was worth it for me to drive down and pick them up (about an hour each way). Even with the fuel cost we saved a lot of money with Wolverine. We went with the wave design and they were just installed by our mason yesterday and they look great. They let in lots of light and we are very pleased with the product. They had the order ready when promised and the office girl helped me load them into my vehicle (she was the only one there so I assume everyone else was out on jobs). Would definitely use this company again for all of our glass block needs. (note: before and after pic are not the same window because I had trouble with the lighting so I had to use a different side of the house) ps. Honey, I told you so.
